Controversial Bollywood filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has pitched in his views on AI and its implications for creative jobs. In his tweet, the director of Kashmir Files writes that it is near impossible, as clients cannot write a perfect brief. Vivek remarks that AI might not affect jobs by replacing copywriters, fashion designers, interior designers, and the whole gamut.
Vivek further quips that clients can never give a perfect brief as it changes all the freakin time, confusing the AI. Too early to judge if the AI complies with ceaseless changes no? It doesn’t have a human mind so to speak, and thereby not stressed or burned-out like the sapiens.
However, if you see the plethora of apps and tools that have been under development like Midjourney, Adobe Firefly etc, AI will cost a significant loss to the pre-production industry that rely on some of the most creative artists from around the globe. While artists have been rallying against the use of AI generated content for films, there are producers and movie makers who don’t exactly agree with artists. Few creatives toe a different line altogether. They believe in blending the best of both worlds and keep up with evolving technologies. However, their arguments fell flat on the face of content generated by AI. It’s plagiarism of the highest order and unfortunately there are no regulations anywhere in the world to keep it in check. However, Vivek Agnihotri’s view ain’t without merit though. Here’s why – fire up 5 PCs and prompt ChatGPT to write a quirky copy for a fictional brand. You will only get run-off-the-mill bland copy that are virtually similar. Copywriters are safe (for now). Futurists argue that there’ll be a generation of purists who would only prefer content with human touch. Having said that, automation in many jobs will take over in the capitalist zeitgeist.

Meanwhile, here’s a handful of reaction on Agnihotri’s tweet
That’s the beauty of AI. You need not be perfect but it will imply logically and provide an intelligent response. It’s something which if gone rogue can be disastrous sir.
