Amaravati to be developed as Artificial Intelligence City

Vijayawada: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has suggested that capital Amaravati should be developed as an Artificial Intelligence (AI) City and has directed officials to plan accordingly.
In a review meeting with municipal administration minister P Narayana and CRDA officials at the secretariat on Thursday, Naidu proposed that the Amaravati logo should reflect AI by combining the first and last letters of Amaravati (A and I).

He emphasized that the capital’s construction should showcase technological advancements everywhere. Naidu asked the officials to complete the construction of the CRDA office, which is being constructed as G+7, within the next 90 days. The officials told the chief minister that the construction of the CRDA office has not moved in the last five years.
Naidu said that along with the completion of the CRDA office building, the works pertaining to housing quarters should be done within the timelines fixed. He instructed officials to use the latest technologies in construction without compromising on quality.
Naidu also reviewed the Happy Nest project initiated by the TDP govt in the capital. Designed for those wishing to reside in the Amaravati capital area, the project spanned over 14 acres. However, the project was halted after the YSRCP govt came to power in 2019, resulting in significant losses to the CRDA. Naidu asked the officials to develop strategies to recover these losses and revive the project.
The CRDA officials informed the chief minister about 3,558 acres yet to be acquired for the capital. They have said that the farmers from two villages are now willing to offer their lands under the land pooling scheme.
Naidu suggested resolving minor objections related to the allocation of developed plots to these farmers and completing the process of acquiring the land.
He also reviewed the ongoing jungle clearance works in the capital, where 190 Hitachi machines are clearing trees, with about 60% of the work completed.
On the other hand, Naidu also directed the officials to expedite the metro rail project works in Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.
AP Metro Rail Corporation MD Ramakrishna Reddy explained that the Visakhapatnam metro project will be executed in two phases. Phase-1 will cover 46 kilometres at a cost of ₹11,400 crores, followed by Phase-2 covering 30 kilometres at a cost of ₹5,734 crores. Naidu instructed that Phase-1 should be completed within four years. He also suggested speeding up the 38-kilometre Vijayawada Metro Rail project, which is estimated to cost ₹11,000 crores.
